Following the success of Helldivers 2, Arrowhead Studios has hinted at a new game

Arrowhead Studios, fresh off the resounding success of Helldivers 2 (released last year to rave reviews), is currently developing a new game concept. Creative director Johan Pilestedt recently took to social media, announcing work on a "high concept" project and inviting fan input.

The community responded with a flurry of suggestions, ranging from a Smash TV remake to Star Fox-inspired titles. Pilestedt acknowledged prior internal consideration of a Smash TV remake and even mentioned a Star Fox-esque project within the "rail game" genre.

While specifics remain under wraps, Arrowhead's active community engagement is evident. The studio’s next title faces high expectations, given Helldivers 2's stellar performance as one of 2024's standout games.

A recent update for Helldivers 2 has significantly boosted player numbers on PS5. The "Omens of Tyranny" expansion, surprise-released at the 2024 Game Awards, appears to be a hit.

This update has clearly delighted Helldivers 2 players. The long-awaited Illuminate enemy faction, coupled with the addition of a 4x4 Fast Recon Vehicle and urban warfare maps, provides substantial new content. Furthermore, with rumors of a Killzone crossover on the horizon, Helldivers 2 is poised for continued success in 2025.
