Geralt of Rivia returns, or rather, Geralt's voice returns. Netflix's latest addition to its Witcher Universe is an animated film, Sirens of the Deep, a spin-off set during Season 1 of the Netflix series. Doug Cockle, the voice of Geralt from the acclaimed video games, once again lends his voice to the monster hunter.
IGN critic Jarrod Jones notes in his review that while the pairing of Cockle's Geralt and Joey Batey's Jaskier holds appeal, its charm may be primarily felt by dedicated fans. Nevertheless, it might serve as a satisfying bridge to the eagerly anticipated Witcher 4.
For those wondering about streaming options and its place in the Witcher timeline, read on.

The Witcher universe originates from Andrzej Sapkowski's novels. Sirens of the Deep adapts the short story "A Little Sacrifice" from the second book, and is set between episodes 5 and 6 of Netflix's Season 1. The official synopsis: "Hired to investigate attacks on a seaside village, mutant monster hunter Geralt unravels an age-old conflict between humans and sea people, threatening war between kingdoms. Aided by allies, he must solve the mystery before hostilities escalate."
Andrzej Sapkowski's books launched the Witcher franchise. CD Projekt Red's video games, especially The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, achieved critical acclaim, spawning spin-offs and adaptations (including the popular Gwent card game). The Witcher 4, with a new protagonist, was announced at the 2024 Game Awards.
Netflix's live-action series, starring Henry Cavill for three seasons, premiered in 2019. Season 4, featuring Liam Hemsworth as Geralt, is slated for April release.
The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep was written by Mike Ostrowski and Rae Benjamin (also writers on the live-action series) and directed by Kang Hei Chul. Animation was a collaborative effort between Studio Mir, Poland's Platige Image, and Hivemind.
Doug Cockle reprises his role as Geralt, joined by cast members from the live-action show. The full voice cast includes:
Doug Cockle as Geralt of Rivia Joey Batey as Jaskier Anya Chalotra as Yennefer of Vengerberg Christina Wren as Essi Daven Emily Carey as Sh'eenaz
The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep is rated MA and has a runtime of one hour and 31 minutes.
