Stalker 2: Exclusive Science Side Quest Guide

In Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, players exploring The Zone will encounter various NPCs, leading to quests ranging from small tasks to significant side missions like "For Science!". This mission involves Skif meeting Yaryk Mongoose, who needs help activating a second measuring device atop a silo. It's a short quest rewarding players with a Malachite pass for access to the STC Malachite facility.

Initiating the "For Science!" Side Quest

To begin "For Science!", find Yaryk Mongoose in the Central Elevator area of the Chemical Plant. Approaching triggers a radio call between Mongoose and Skif, prompting Skif to meet him. Inside the Central Elevator, go left past the conveyor belts, ascend the rusty stairs, vault the railing, and speak with Mongoose. He'll explain the need to activate a second device on a nearby silo. Accepting his request starts the mission.

Reaching the Silo's Summit

Leave the room and climb to the building's roof. Eliminate any rodents encountered. Enter a room with broken windows, climb out, and descend a ladder to a walkway. Jump to the silo walkways, equipping your bolt gun to counter electro anomalies. Proceed left to activate the measuring device.

Dealing with the Bloodsuckers and Mongoose

Activating the device attracts Bloodsuckers. Eliminate them or evade them to reach Mongoose. He'll explain the experiment's unintended consequences. Players can choose to kill Mongoose for endangering Skif or accept the reward peacefully. Neither choice significantly impacts the game. Choosing the peaceful option provides the Malachite Pass and coupons. The pass grants access to the STC Malachite base, unless already accessible via main missions.
