Romancing SaGa Re:universe Global Server Closure Announced

The global version of Romancing SaGa Re:universe will officially shut down on December 2nd, 2024. While the Japanese version will continue operation, this marks the end of the line for global players after a four-year run.

Two Months Remain

With the December shutdown approaching, in-game purchases of paid jewels and Google Play Point exchanges have already ceased following the September 29th, 2024 maintenance. Players have approximately two months left to enjoy the game.

A Mixed Legacy

Launched in June 2020, the global version received mixed player feedback despite its attractive visuals, soundtrack, and generous gacha mechanics. A significant factor contributing to its less enthusiastic reception compared to the Japanese version was the omission of key content updates, such as the Solistia region and 6-star unit upgrades—content available in Japan for almost a year.

Square Enix's Recent Shutdowns

This closure follows several other Square Enix game shutdowns in 2024, including Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius and two Dragon Quest mobile titles.
