Spotify Outage Alert: Service Down

Attention all music lovers: Spotify, the popular music streaming service, is currently experiencing a widespread outage this morning. Reports of the disruption began surfacing around 6 a.m. PT, according to data from Downdetector, a site that tracks online service outages. Throughout the morning, numerous users, including our team at IGN, encountered difficulties accessing the service. Even when we managed to open the app, it refused to play any music.

Spotify has officially acknowledged the issue and is actively working on a solution. The company took to its Spotify Status Twitter account to assure users that they are doing everything possible to resolve the problem quickly. Additionally, Spotify debunked rumors suggesting the outage was due to a security hack, clarifying that this is not the case.

We are aware of the outage and working to resolve it as soon as possible. The reports of this being a security hack are false.
