Sims 4 Throwback: Unearthing the Past Through History Displays

Author:Kristen Update:Feb 25,2025

Week 2 of The Sims 4's Blast from the Past event presents a puzzling challenge: studying a Historical Display. This guide clarifies the process and addresses common issues.

Locating a Historical Display:

The Week 2 quest requires interaction with a Historical Display, encompassing both paintings and sculptures, located within a museum. Consult your in-game map; museums are represented by a pillar icon. While several exist, the Municipal Museum (Willow Creek) and The Future's Past (Oasis Springs) offer convenient proximity to other event tasks.

Studying the Display:

Upon entering a museum, locate a painting or sculpture. Clicking the object presents a "View" option. Selecting "View" completes the quest, indicated by the appearance of the Emit icon.

Troubleshooting Common Issues:

Many players report difficulties with the "View" option, often attributed to conflicting mods. If encountering this problem, temporarily disabling mods might resolve the issue. If the problem persists, attempting to interact with multiple displays in different museums may be necessary. EA's awareness of this issue is hoped for, pending a future patch.

Completing the Historical Display task is only one step in Week 2's challenges. The complete quest list includes:
