Author:Kristen Update:Mar 21,2025

Konami's Silent Hill Transmission livestream on March 14th unveiled Silent Hill f, a new addition to the celebrated horror franchise. The game's narrative is helmed by Ryukishi07, the acclaimed writer behind the psychological horror visual novel When They Cry (Higurashi no Naku Koro ni). His renowned skill in suspense and intricate storytelling has already generated considerable excitement among fans of both Silent Hill and his previous works.

Further fueling anticipation, the game's soundtrack boasts contributions from Dai and Xaki, highly regarded composers known for their anime work. Their collaboration with Silent Hill veterans Akira Yamaoka and Kensuke Inage promises an atmospheric soundscape that will define the game's auditory identity.

Ryukishi07 shed light on his decision to include Dai and Xaki, explaining their consistent contribution to the success of his past projects. He highlighted their crucial role in enhancing specific, emotionally charged scenes within Silent Hill f:

These two musicians have always helped make my projects better. For Silent Hill f, I specifically asked them to focus on scenes I wanted to make particularly expressive.

Dai's entry into the industry is a unique story. Initially a fan, he wrote to Ryukishi07 criticizing the use of royalty-free music in one of his games. Instead of dismissal, Ryukishi07 challenged Dai to create his own soundtrack. Impressed by Dai's talent, the team incorporated his work, beginning a successful collaboration.

Silent Hill f is currently under development for PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Combining Ryukishi07's gripping narrative with the evocative scores of Dai and Xaki, the game aims to deliver a chilling experience that pushes the boundaries of horror gaming. The collaboration between these creative forces suggests Silent Hill f has the potential to be a landmark entry in the legendary series.
