Pokemon GO Reveals New Gigantamax Debut Coming in Future Event

Summary

  • Gigantamax Kingler makes its Pokémon GO debut on February 1st during the Max Battle Day event.
  • Players can utilize Max Mushrooms to significantly boost damage in battles.
  • Event bonuses include increased Max Particle collection limits, expanded Power Spot battles, and boosted XP rewards.

Pokémon GO announced the highly anticipated arrival of Gigantamax Kingler on February 1st. Last year's addition of Dynamax and Gigantamax forms was a major update eagerly awaited by players. Since then, developers have steadily expanded the roster of these powerful Pokémon variants.

Gigantamax, a special Dynamax form, not only increases a Pokémon's size and strength but also alters its appearance and grants unique abilities known as G-Max Moves. While the main series games feature 32 Gigantamax-capable Pokémon, Pokémon GO currently boasts only six, with Gigantamax Lapras being the most recent addition. This number is set to increase with the upcoming event.

Gigantamax Kingler will debut in Pokémon GO on February 1st during the Max Battle Day event, running from 2 pm to 5 pm local time. This Water-type Pokémon will be available for the first time in six-star Max Battles, offering players a chance to encounter a Shiny variant. To enhance their battle performance, players can leverage Max Mushrooms, the controversial in-game item that temporarily increases damage output for Dynamax and Gigantamax Pokémon in Max Battles.
