Pokemon Go announces in-person event for later this year in Sao Paulo during gamescom latam

Niantic announces major Pokemon Go event in Sao Paulo, Brazil! At gamescom latam 2024, Niantic revealed exciting news for Brazilian Pokemon Go players: a massive city-wide event in Sao Paulo this December! Further details are yet to be announced, but expect a Pikachu-filled extravaganza.

The announcement comes as no surprise, given Pokemon Go's immense popularity in Brazil. Niantic representatives, including Alan Madujano (Head of Operations in LATAM), Eric Araki (Country Manager for Brazil), and Leonardo Willie (Community Manager for Emerging Markets), highlighted the game's success in the region, largely attributed to price reductions for in-game items leading to a revenue boost.

To further enhance the Pokemon Go experience, Niantic is collaborating with Brazilian city governments to increase the number of PokeStops and Gyms across the country, ensuring a more enjoyable and accessible gameplay for all. This initiative, along with partnerships with shopping centers and the Civil House of the City of Sao Paulo for the Sao Paulo event, aims to provide a fun and safe environment for players.
