"Pokemon GO Adds Long-Awaited Feature in Limited-Time Event"

Pokemon GO enthusiasts have a thrilling update to look forward to during the upcoming Fashion Week: Taken Over event. Niantic has announced that players can now use remote raid passes for Shadow Raids for the very first time. This exciting feature, introduced during the event running from Wednesday, January 15, at 12:00 a.m. to Sunday, January 19, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. local time, allows trainers to participate in one-star, three-star, and five-star Shadow Raids either in person or remotely. This update is a game-changer, especially for those who have been eagerly awaiting the chance to engage in Shadow Raids from the comfort of their homes.

Shadow Raids, which were introduced to Pokemon GO in 2023, have become a favorite among players due to the opportunity to catch powerful Pokemon. During the Fashion Week: Taken Over event, participants will have the chance to capture Pokemon with higher IV stats, making it an unmissable opportunity for competitive players. The highlight of the event is the Shadow Ho-Oh Raid day on January 19, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time, where trainers will have an increased chance to catch the elusive shiny shadow Ho-Oh. Additionally, players can teach their Shadow Ho-Oh the charged attack Sacred Fire and use a Charged TM to make Shadow Pokemon forget the move Frustration.

The introduction of remote raid passes for Shadow Raids has been one of the most requested features since their debut in 2023. While this feature will be limited to the duration of the Fashion Week: Taken Over event, it marks a significant step forward in enhancing player experience. It remains to be seen whether Niantic will make this feature a permanent addition to Pokemon GO. Given the community's feedback on the challenges of gathering in person for Dynamax and Gigantamax battles, many fans hope that remote raid passes for Shadow Raids will become a staple in the game, offering more flexibility and accessibility to all players.
