The event is reportedly scheduled for January 20th to February 3rd. This would mark the first appearance of Dynamax legendary Pokémon in the game, following the introduction of Dynamax Pokémon in September 2024.

The Kanto legendary birds remain incredibly popular within the Pokémon community. While previously featured in standard raids (including their Shiny forms), and their Galarian counterparts in Daily Incense (with lower spawn rates), this Dynamax iteration represents a significant new addition. The leak suggests a strategic move by Pokémon GO to boost the popularity of Max Raids, which have seen some player avoidance due to perceived difficulty.

The inclusion of these iconic legendary birds in Dynamax Raids raises the possibility of other legendary Pokémon receiving the Dynamax treatment in future events. Pokémon Sword and Shield featured Dynamax forms of various legendaries, including Mewtwo and Ho-Oh, suggesting a similar trajectory for Pokémon GO.
