Pokémon Legends: Z-A Release Date Reveal Imminent

Pokémon Legends: Z-A – August 15th, 2025 Release Date Leak

Rumors of a Pokémon Legends: Z-A release date surfaced online, pointing towards an August 15th, 2025 launch. This potential release date originated from a brief listing on Amazon UK in early January 2025, quickly removed and replaced with a December 31st placeholder. The August date aligns with The Pokémon Company's previously stated 2025 release window for the game.

Initially unveiled during the February 2024 Pokémon Day celebrations, Pokémon Legends: Z-A is the anticipated sequel to 2022's Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Following the exploration-focused gameplay of its predecessor, it's expected to continue the open-ended experience prioritizing Pokémon collection over traditional gym battles and the Pokémon League. Since its announcement, official details have been scarce.

February 2025 Confirmation Possible

The leaked date's accuracy remains unconfirmed, but an official announcement is highly likely soon. Similar to its initial reveal during Pokémon Day 2024, the release date could be unveiled during the 2025 Pokémon Day event, scheduled for February 27th – the anniversary of the original Japanese release of Pokémon Red and Green. This date has been corroborated by data mining evidence found within the latest Pokémon GO update.

Beyond the release date, fans eagerly anticipate a gameplay reveal, potentially debuting at the same February 2025 Pokémon Presents broadcast. Initially confirmed as a Nintendo Switch exclusive, Pokémon Legends: Z-A will also be playable on the upcoming Switch 2, thanks to confirmed backward compatibility. While past mainline Pokémon games have featured paid DLC, Pokémon Legends: Arceus only received a single free post-launch update, "Daybreak."
