Pokémon GO is celebrating the New Year with its annual festive event, running from December 30th to January 1st, 2025. This year's event promises themed bonuses, special Pokémon encounters, and plenty of ways to ring in the new year in style. Following the Community Day event (December 21st-22nd), prepare for a week of exciting New Year's festivities!

This year's event offers a fantastic bonus: catch Pokémon with an Excellent Throw to earn a whopping 2,025 XP each! Immerse yourself in the festive atmosphere with New Year's decorations and celebratory fireworks lighting up the sky.

Expect increased appearances of special Pokémon in the wild, including a ribbon-adorned Jigglypuff, a New Year's outfit-wearing Hoothoot, and a party-hat-sporting Wurmple. Keep an eye out for their Shiny variants!

Raids are also getting a festive makeover. One-star raids will feature a snowflake-hat-wearing Pikachu, while three-star raids bring party-hat-clad Raticate and Wobbuffet. Shiny rates for all three are boosted during the event.
