Path of Exile 2's Early Access has players eager to master their chosen classes. While subclasses aren't a core feature, Ascendancies provide specialized abilities and unique playstyles. This guide explains how to unlock and utilize them.
To unlock Ascendancy Classes, complete a Trial of Ascendancy. In Early Access, choose between the Act 2 Trial of the Sekhemas or the Act 3 Trial of Chaos. Completing either unlocks Ascendancy selection and rewards two passive Ascendancy Points. The earlier Act 2 trial is recommended for quicker access to enhanced abilities.
Early Access features six classes, each with two Ascendancies. More classes and Ascendancies are planned for the full release.
Witch Hunter: This buff-focused Ascendancy enhances offense, defense, and battlefield control. Skills like Culling Strike and No Mercy boost damage output. Ideal for players who enjoy debuffing enemies for increased damage.
Gemling Legionnaire: This Ascendancy focuses on Skill Gems, allowing extra skills and additional buffs. Its flexibility allows for highly customized builds.
Invoker: Embrace elemental powers and inflict status ailments. Perfect for melee-focused elemental combat.
Acolyte of Chayula: Master shadow powers, combining defensive and healing abilities with damage-boosting effects. A unique, shadow-based playstyle.
Deadeye: Enhance ranged combat with increased attack speed, movement speed, and damage. Skills like Eagle Eyes and Called Shots further refine accuracy and targeting.
Pathfinder: Utilize poison and elemental damage with abilities like Poisonous Concoction and Contagious Contamination. A diverse option beyond traditional bow-and-arrow builds.
Stormweaver: Amplify elemental abilities with Elemental Storm and increased damage across various elements. A solid choice for enhancing existing elemental caster builds.
Chronomancer: Manipulate time to control cooldowns and alter the flow of battle. A dynamic playstyle for strategic combat.
Titan: Maximize damage and tankiness with defensive abilities like Stone Skin and offensive enhancements like Crushing Impacts and Surprising Strength. Ideal for players who enjoy a tank role.
Warbringer: Summon Ancestral Spirits and Totems for support and additional damage. A melee-focused build with summoned allies.
Blood Mage: Drain enemy life to restore your own health, while also boosting damage from lingering wounds and curse duration.
Infernalist: Summon a Hellhound and shapeshift into a powerful demon form for increased fire damage.
