Wuthering Waves: Unlocking Nightmare Crownless – A Comprehensive Guide

Ruins Where Shadows Roam Quest Guide

This unique Wuthering Waves quest isn't initiated by an NPC or world interaction. Instead, locate it within the Penitent's End region's Exploration Progress menu (accessible via the compass icon in the upper-left of your map).

This quest is closely tied to "Quest of Faith," an optional challenge involving four enemy defeats within Penitent's End. Begin at the Resonance Beacon across the broken bridge in Wailing Ascent. Interact with the prompt near the circular arena adjacent to the beacon to trigger a fight against a Questless Knight.

Defeating these knights requires strategic positioning. Lure them near lit Macabre Torches within the arena. These torches can be re-lit by strategically using Fae Ignis enemies. Avoid using high-damage skills near the torches to prevent accidental extinguishment.

Unlocking Nightmare Crownless

After completing both "Ruins Where Shadows Roam" and "Quest of Faith," locate all four Dream Patrols in Penitent's End (see image above for their locations). While completing these patrols isn't mandatory for unlocking Nightmare Crownless, they offer additional resources and Monnaie. Once all patrols are found, Nightmare Crownless will appear on your map within the ruins north of Penitent's End.

Remember that Nightmare Echoes utilize Enhanced Absorption charges, boosting Echo drop rates. With a weekly limit of 15 charges, strategic use is crucial if you're developing multiple characters.
