Nexus Mods Owner Threatened Over Removal of Trump and Biden Marvel Rivals Mods

Nexus Mods, a popular platform for game modifications, finds itself at the center of a heated debate after removing over 500 mods for Marvel's Avengers in a single month. The controversy erupted following the removal of mods that replaced Captain America's head with images of Joe Biden and Donald Trump.

Nexus Mods' owner, TheDarkOne, clarified the situation on Reddit, stating that both the Biden and Trump mods were removed simultaneously to prevent accusations of political bias. TheDarkOne noted the curious silence from YouTube commentators on this simultaneous removal.

However, the fallout continued. TheDarkOne revealed that the removal triggered a wave of online harassment, including death threats and accusations of pedophilia.

This isn't the first time Nexus Mods has faced backlash over mod removals. A similar incident occurred in 2022 when a Spider-Man Remastered mod replacing rainbow flags with American flags was removed.
