Mortal Kombat Mobile brings in iconic Image anti-hero Spawn

Author:Kristen Update:Feb 28,2025

Mortal Kombat Mobile welcomes back the iconic guest character, Spawn!

This latest addition to the mobile fighting game roster features Spawn in his Mortal Kombat 11 iteration, a design courtesy of Todd McFarlane. He's not alone; the MK1 version of Kenshi is also joining the fray shortly. This update also boasts three brand-new Friendship finishers and a brutal Brutality.

Spawn, otherwise known as Al Simmons, is a murdered soldier who struck a deal with the Devil, returning to Earth as a supernatural anti-hero. His formidable powers might just be the catalyst for the Apocalypse.

Originally created (though first published in the 90s) by Todd McFarlane, Spawn is a cornerstone character of Image Comics and a highly sought-after guest in the Mortal Kombat universe. His first appearance in the series was in Mortal Kombat 11.

A Hellspawn-Sized Update

The arrival of Spawn, alongside a fresh Kenshi, is sure to excite both Spawn and Mortal Kombat fans, despite some players' reservations about mobile versions of beloved fighting games.

Spawn, based on his MK11 appearance, is currently available in Mortal Kombat Mobile. The update also includes the challenging Hellspawn dungeons. Download it now on the iOS App Store and Google Play!

A Bittersweet Note: Just before publication, reports surfaced of the alleged dismissal of the entire Netherrealm Studios mobile team. Sadly, Spawn's addition might be the final achievement of this talented group.
