Marvel TV Thrives on Disney+

Author:Kristen Update:Feb 22,2025

Marvel's small-screen adaptations have a rich history, from the classic "Incredible Hulk" to the Netflix series featuring Daredevil and Luke Cage. While earlier attempts to connect these shows to the MCU faltered, Marvel Studios launched a new era in 2021 with interconnected Disney+ series. With the recent addition of "Spider-Man: Freshman Year," we're reviewing the preceding 12 Disney+ Marvel shows.

Disney+ Marvel TV Shows Ranked

  1. Secret Invasion

Disney+
Widely considered the weakest Marvel Studios TV series to date, "Secret Invasion" falls short of its comic book source material. Director Ali Selim's unfamiliarity with the comics resulted in a lackluster adaptation. Despite aiming for the espionage tone of "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," the series suffered from slow pacing, a poorly executed opening, and questionable character choices.

  1. Echo

Disney+
A significant improvement over "Secret Invasion," "Echo" features Alaqua Cox's return as the titular deaf Cheyenne superhero. The story focuses on Echo's return to her reservation and her struggles with her powers and past. While a shortened episode count left some viewers wanting more, the series boasts impressive action sequences and a groundbreaking predominantly indigenous cast.

  1. Moon Knight

Disney+
Starring Oscar Isaac, "Moon Knight" explores the multiple personalities of Marc Spector. This surreal series blends elements of various genres, introducing a new standout character, Scarlet Scarab (May Calamawy). Despite a strong cast, including F. Murray Abraham and Ethan Hawke, it failed to resonate strongly enough with viewers.

  1. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier

Disney+
Featuring Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan, this series suffered from ambiguous morality, over-reliance on the Blip storyline, and a focus on espionage over action. Production delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic may have also impacted the final product. Nevertheless, certain narrative elements have proven crucial to the current MCU.
