LEGO for Nintendo Fans: Which Franchise Reigns Supreme?

Nintendo and LEGO have teamed up to produce some fantastic LEGO Nintendo sets. Last year saw the release of the impressive, interactive Mario and Yoshi set, along with the first-ever LEGO Legend of Zelda set. While these are excellent, the potential for LEGO sets based on other iconic Nintendo franchises remains largely untapped.

Currently, the selection leans heavily towards various Mario sets (including Donkey Kong) and a decent number of Animal Crossing sets. For fans of both LEGO and Nintendo, like myself, this leaves much to be desired. Therefore, I ask: Which Nintendo franchise deserves the LEGO treatment next?

The recent Switch 2 announcement keeps the excitement for future Nintendo releases high. We can likely expect more LEGO Nintendo sets as Nintendo continues its investment in films (the new Mario movie and the eventual live-action Zelda adaptation) and upcoming Switch games. What LEGO Nintendo sets could realistically launch in 2025 or beyond? Share your thoughts in the comments!

Personally, I believe a Metroid line would be incredibly successful. With Metroid Prime 4 on the horizon, it presents a perfect opportunity for amazing LEGO builds. Additionally, I'd love to see official LEGO Pokémon sets, rather than the existing MEGA sets. However, this might be unlikely due to the Mattel/Pokémon Company licensing agreement.
