The return of the classic Call of Duty Prestige system in Black Ops 6 has made the XP grind more popular than ever. Players familiar with recent titles like Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone might have a secret weapon to accelerate their progress: Legacy XP Tokens. Here's how to use them.

What Are Legacy XP Tokens in Black Ops 6?

Legacy XP Token

Following the Season 01 update to Black Ops 6 and Warzone, many players discovered a surplus of previously unseen XP tokens. These tokens proved invaluable for boosting XP, Weapon XP, and Battle Pass progression, particularly on launch day. However, a November 15th update addressed an issue that incorrectly allowed these tokens to be activated within the Black Ops 6 UI.

So, what are these Legacy XP Tokens? They're any unused XP tokens carried over from previous Call of Duty titles, accessible via the COD HQ app. Games like Modern Warfare II, Modern Warfare III, and Warzone offered various ways to earn these tokens, including DMZ Missions, Battle Pass tiers, and promotions with brands like Little Caesar's and Monster Energy. If you earned tokens in these games, they remain usable in Warzone. Here's how to utilize them in Black Ops 6.

How To Use Warzone XP Tokens in Black Ops 6

Initially, on Season 01 launch, players could activate their Warzone Legacy XP tokens directly within Black Ops 6. This is no longer the case. However, a workaround existed, allowing players to leverage these tokens to boost XP, Weapon XP, and Battle Pass progression in Black Ops 6.

The process was relatively simple. If you had available Legacy XP Tokens in Warzone, you activated them there. Then, switching to Black Ops 6, the token and its countdown timer would appear in your UI. While this method required switching between menus and the XP tokens counted down in real-time, it provided a significant boost to leveling up in Black Ops 6.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone are available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
