Disneyland Paris Lion King Ride: New Images, Construction Start

Exciting new images, details, and a fall 2025 construction start window have been revealed for the upcoming Lion King attraction at Disneyland Paris.

As detailed on the Disney Parks Blog, the first-ever land and attraction dedicated to The Lion King will be a major highlight of the transformed Walt Disney Studios Park, soon to be known as Disney Adventure World. This immersive new water ride will take guests through pivotal scenes from the beloved 1994 film. The surrounding land will feature a towering 120-foot Pride Rock, alongside diverse dining options, retail locations, character experiences, and more.

Disney has released a new concept image showcasing Audio-Animatronics of young Simba, Timon, and Pumbaa enjoying a meal of grubs in a lush jungle setting. One of the ride's thrilling moments will be a 52-foot drop, slightly taller than the drop in Tiana's Bayou Adventure.

While an exact opening date is not yet set, the attraction is scheduled to debut after the grand opening of World of Frozen in 2026. It will be a key component of Disney Adventure World, which will double the size of the current park.

Alongside World of Frozen, The Lion King attraction, and the previously announced Rapunzel Tangled Spin ride featuring Mandy Moore's return, guests can anticipate the first-ever attraction themed to Disney-Pixar's *Up*. This "spinning carousel" ride will offer passengers a bird's-eye view of the park's scenic landscapes.

Another cornerstone of Disney Adventure World, opening May 15, 2025, will be "World Premiere." This brand-new park entrance is designed to evoke the glamour of a Hollywood premiere night. The adjacent World Premiere Plaza, inspired by Broadway and London's West End, will host theatrical productions like TOGETHER: A Pixar Musical Adventure, Mickey and the Magician, and Frozen: A Musical Invitation.
