How to Get a Horse in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2

Mastering Mount Acquisition in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

The vast open world of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 can initially feel overwhelming. Efficient traversal is key, and that often means acquiring a horse. Here's how to get one:

Reclaiming Your Original Horse

You can, in fact, regain your starting steed, Pebbles. Travel to Semine in the southern region and speak with the horse trader. However, securing Pebbles won't be easy. You'll need to either pay Groschen, or employ persuasion or intimidation. My experience, involving completing the main questline and collaborating with Radovan, allowed me to convince the trader to relinquish Pebbles without payment, though it did slightly impact my reputation in Semine. If persuasion fails, prepare to pay.

The Art of Horse Theft

Alternatively, you can acquire a horse through less scrupulous means. While wild horses are rare, farms and stables offer opportunities for theft. Be aware that this carries the risk of being caught.

I suggest visiting Vidlak Pond in the west. A farmhouse belonging to fishermen contains two horses, ripe for the taking. Simply mount one and ride away.

Afterward, visit the Nomads' Camp east of Vidlak Pond. A horse trainer NPC can teach you how to saddle and tame your newly acquired mount, though this will require payment. You can, however, choose to ride the horse unsaddled.
