Grand Theft Auto (GTA) fans have been eagerly awaiting updates on the highly anticipated GTA 6, and now, GTA 5 actor Ned Luke, who voices Michael De Santa, has shared his insights and predictions about the upcoming game. Dive in to learn more about what to expect from GTA 6 and its development process.

In an engaging interview with the YouTube channel Fall Damage, Ned Luke confidently predicted that GTA 6 will rake in a staggering $1.3 billion on its launch day. Reflecting on the success of GTA 5, which earned over $800 million in its first 24 hours back in 2013, Luke is convinced that GTA 6 will surpass these figures significantly. He emphasized the unpredictability and excellence of Rockstar Games, saying, "What I tell people is, be patient. It's going to be worth the wait. From what I've seen, it's going to be amazing."

According to research firm DFC Intelligence, GTA 6 is projected to sell over 40 million copies and generate $3.2 billion in its first year, with $1 billion stemming from pre-orders alone.

The Future Of GTA 5 Characters In GTA 6

Luke also touched on the potential return of GTA 5 characters in future titles. While his character, Michael, has been absent from GTA Online since its inception, other protagonists like Trevor and Franklin have made appearances. Luke hinted at the possibility of Michael featuring in a speculated final DLC for GTA Online or even in GTA 6 itself. Steven Ogg, who portrayed Trevor, shared with ScreenRant in January 2025 his vision of Trevor's role in GTA 6, suggesting a dramatic "passing the torch" moment by being killed off early in the game.

Luke added, "Maybe [Michael, Franklin, and Trevor will be] in GTA 6, like [its online mode]. Maybe. Maybe not. You know Rockstar is not going to tell you anything. And if we say anything, you know they will not be very happy." Despite the enthusiasm from both actors, no official word has been given on the inclusion of these characters in GTA 6.

GTA 6 May Be At Its Testing Phase

Former Rockstar Games Animator Mike York shed light on the current development stage of GTA 6, suggesting it is now in the in-house testing phase. In a now-deleted video interview with YouTuber Kiwi Talkz, as reported by GamesRadar, York highlighted the game's unique nature, stating, "There are a lot of things that can happen that you don't really think about until some random kid in his basement tries it, you know? You really don't."

York believes that while the game is still being refined with additional features, it is already at a playable stage, with many testers likely having experienced it.

Rockstar Games first teased GTA 6 with a trailer in December 2023, but since then, details have been scarce. Previous reports indicated a potential Fall 2025 release, based on financial projections from Take-Two Interactive in 2024, though no official release date has been confirmed.
