Grand Theft Auto 5 Enhanced Becomes Rockstar’s Lowest-Rated Game in Steam History

The Steam release of the enhanced version of Grand Theft Auto 5 didn't exactly set the world on fire. Many players voiced significant disappointment, citing a host of technical problems and difficulties transferring their progress to GTA Online.

This widespread frustration is clearly reflected in the overwhelmingly negative user reviews on Steam, severely impacting the game's rating. For a brief time, Grand Theft Auto 5 Enhanced held the ignominious title of the lowest-rated Rockstar Games title on the platform.

While the rating has since improved somewhat (currently at 50.59%), it still remains the second-lowest rated Rockstar game on Steam, just above L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files (49.63%). This less-than-stellar position within Rockstar's impressive catalog underscores the considerable challenges developers face when releasing updated versions of established games.

The negative reception highlights the crucial need for meticulous attention to detail regarding technical issues and seamless player transitions, especially for a game as iconic as Grand Theft Auto 5. Rockstar is actively working to improve the player experience, but the initial backlash serves as a stark reminder of the high expectations fans hold for their beloved franchises.
