Weapon Types in Freedom Wars Remastered

The following table summarizes the six weapon types:

Weapon Type Traits
Light Melee Quick attacks ideal for rapid combat against single targets. Can sever Abductor limbs without a Flare Knife.
Heavy Melee Wide-sweeping attacks dealing high damage. Well-placed attacks multiply damage against multiple limbs. Charged attacks launch the user into the air. Slightly reduces movement speed.
Polearm Attacks involve charging through enemies, providing mobility and evasion. Charged attacks launch the polearm for significant ranged damage.
Assault Weapons High ammo capacity, suited for gun-focused builds. Can be fired while grappled with your Thorne for tactical advantage.
Portable Artillery High single-shot damage but low ammo capacity. Explosive area-of-effect shots can hit multiple limbs for increased damage. Reduces movement speed.
Autocannons High rate of fire with large ammo capacity and magazine size. Individual shots have lower damage, compensated by rapid fire. Reduces movement speed.

Note that Accessories using gun weapons do not consume ammo.
