Eerie Worlds: A Tactical CCG Featuring Global Folklore Monsters

Rifts are rarely good news in games, but Avid Games has embraced the chaos in its highly anticipated CCG, Eerie Worlds, the successor to Cards, the Universe and Everything. This time, the focus is on monsters – specifically, monsters emerging from rifts.

Avid Games has crafted a visually diverse roster of monsters, each inspired by real-world mythological and folkloric horrors.

The game boasts an impressive range of creatures. Expect encounters with Japanese Yokai (like Jikininki and Kuchisake), Slavic monsters (such as Vodyanoy and Psoglav), Bigfoot, Mothman, the Nandi Bear, El Chupacabra, and countless others from various global mythologies. Each card includes detailed, researched descriptions, enhancing the learning experience.

Eerie Worlds features four Alliances (Grimbald, Zerrofel, Rivin, and Synnig) and multiple Hordes, adding significant tactical depth. Monsters share certain properties but differ in others, leading to strategic complexity.

Your monster collection, known as your Grimoire, can be upgraded by merging duplicate cards. The game starts with 160 base cards, with many more accessible through merging and additional cards planned for release soon.

Avid Games has confirmed the arrival of two new Hordes in the coming months, ensuring Eerie Worlds remains engaging even with extensive playtime.

Gameplay involves constructing a deck of nine monster cards and one world card. Battles unfold over nine 30-second turns, demanding strategic decisions regarding mana usage, synergy exploitation, and more.
