What to Expect from Vampire Hunters in Vampire: The Masquerade — Bloodlines 2

The Chinese Room's recent update sheds light on Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2's formidable vampire hunters: the Information Awareness Bureau (IAB). Operating on a clandestine budget, independent of government oversight, the IAB hunts vampires, or "Hollow Ones," under the guise of training exercises and counter-terrorism operations.

Agent Baker, the Seattle branch leader, is a pragmatic and disciplined hunter committed to the permanent eradication of vampires. She meticulously investigates unusual events, poring over historical data to unravel the hidden vampire society. Her unwavering command has earned her the moniker "The Hen" amongst her loyal team.

The IAB hunters are highly coordinated, maintaining a secure perimeter around their base. Facing them alone is a daunting task; they operate in well-coordinated teams, utilizing spotlights and maintaining communication via portable radios. Their arsenal includes thermic batons, bypassing typical defenses, and phosphorous grenades to flush enemies from cover. Their sniper crossbows fire explosive bolts that inflict significant damage unless swiftly removed.

Despite their effectiveness, these hunters aren't unbeatable. Physically weaker than ghouls and vampires, they possess vulnerabilities. Clever players can exploit these weaknesses; for example, using Fire powers to intercept and redirect grenades or bolts. The Ventru clan's powers offer another strategic option, allowing players to possess an enemy and turn them against their teammates.

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 is slated for release in the first half of 2025 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
