A new evil ending has been revealed in Baldur's Gate

Baldur's Gate 3's hidden depths continue to unveil themselves. Larian Studios' RPG is brimming with secrets, many unearthed by dedicated dataminers.

Recently, dataminers rediscovered a particularly intriguing, malevolent ending during testing of the game's eighth major patch. This ending allows the player character to forcefully remove and destroy the illithid parasite, leaving the character unharmed. A subsequent branching path presents two choices: the protagonist departs with their companions, or the protagonist leaves their companions behind.

Many speculate that this hidden ending will be fully integrated into the game with the release of patch eight.

The recent layoffs at BioWare, developers of Dragon Age: The Veilguard, have fueled industry-wide conversations about the current climate. In response, Michael Daus, Larian Studios' publishing director, took to social media to emphasize the importance of valuing employees. He argued that leadership should bear the brunt of financial difficulties rather than resorting to widespread layoffs between or after project completion. He stressed the critical importance of retaining institutional knowledge for future projects.
