Updated on April 4, 2025: E.R.P.O. currently features four unique monsters.
E.R.P.O. introduces a host of menacing creatures, but unlike typical survival horror titles like Pressure, you’re not defenseless. You can confront these monsters head-on with specific tactics or employ survival strategies for the tougher ones. Here’s my comprehensive guide to surviving all E.R.P.O. monsters.
With new monsters frequently added to E.R.P.O., I recommend bookmarking this page for regular updates. Below, you’ll find detailed strategies for each monster. While most can be tackled with specific approaches, you can also use weapons such as:
Melee Combat: Purchase weapons like the Machete or Hammer from the shop for 10k to 20k cash. They spawn in your next level, ready to pick up with M1 and swing at monsters to deal damage. Exercise caution against ranged threats like the Huntsman, and opt for hit-and-run tactics to avoid heavy melee damage. Bring healing packs for safety.
Grenades and Mines: Available in the shop, Grenades and Mines are powerful tools. For Grenades, pick them up with M1, uncork with E, then throw or place them on the ground and retreat—they explode for massive damage, often killing weaker monsters or heavily damaging tougher ones. Mines require placement and lure monsters to trigger them.
Monster Brawl: Trick a Huntsman into shooting another monster by positioning yourself behind one and making noise via walking or voice chat. The Huntsman’s shot will hit the monster in front. Similarly, lure Reapers during their attack animation to damage each other or nearby monsters.
Here are tailored strategies for each monster.

This shadowy giant will grab and harm you on contact. Evade it by crouching and hiding, or kite it around obstacles. Two Grenades or Mines can eliminate it if you lure it close. Avoid melee combat, as Robe inflicts heavy damage. It teleports and speeds up if you stare at its mask, so keep moving.

The Reaper, a tattered doll-like creature with spinning sword arms, deals melee damage. It can be kited or avoided like Robe but doesn’t teleport. Melee weapons work well since its damage is lower. A single Grenade plus a few hits can finish it off, and explosives temporarily stun it.

These small, harmless-looking ducks follow you unless provoked. Attacking or accidentally harming them triggers their rage, causing them to fly and bite relentlessly for minor damage. Outrun them or use melee weapons to dispatch them quickly, as their low HP makes Grenades unnecessary.

The Huntsman, a blind gunman, delivers lethal one-shot attacks. It relies on sound, detecting you through voice chat or fast movement. Crouch with C and hide under tables to avoid detection. Melee is risky due to its auto-aim. Instead, place a Mine for it to trigger or throw a Grenade while crouched to deafen it for 6 seconds, then rush in with melee weapons.
