Disney Mirrorverse Announces EOS By The End Of This Year

Disney Mirrorverse, the mobile action RPG featuring a unique blend of Disney and Pixar characters, is shutting down. Developer Kabam announced the End of Service (EOS) date as December 16th, 2024.

The game has already been removed from the Google Play Store, and all in-app purchases are disabled. Players have approximately three months of remaining gameplay before the servers are permanently closed.

A Look Back at Disney Mirrorverse

Launched in June 2022, Disney Mirrorverse offered a compelling premise: action-packed battles featuring reimagined Disney and Pixar heroes. Despite initial enthusiasm, particularly among Disney fans, the game struggled to maintain player engagement due to a lengthy beta period and infrequent content updates.

The game's core mechanics, particularly the resource-intensive shard collection system, presented a significant barrier to progression for free-to-play players. While the character designs and graphics were widely praised, the demanding gameplay loop and monetization strategy ultimately hindered its long-term success.

The Unexpected EOS Announcement

The abrupt EOS announcement, coming just a week after a content update introducing Cinderella as a playable character, surprised many players. This isn't Kabam's first instance of unexpectedly ending a game's service; they previously shut down Transformers: Forged to Fight and a Marvel Contest of Champions spin-off.
