Disney Lorcana's Ninth Set: Fabled Debuts September 2025

Disney Lorcana has unveiled groundbreaking updates for its trading card game, confirming the September 5, 2025 release of its ninth set - Fabled. This milestone expansion introduces the game's first Iconic and Epic rarity cards alongside the highly anticipated A Goofy Movie lineup.

Fabled Brings New Rarities and Competitive Shake-Up

The Fabled expansion marks several firsts for Lorcana. Mickey and Minnie Mouse will debut as premium Iconic rarity cards, appearing with carousel-themed artwork that will become the most sought-after collectibles. The new Epic rarity tier sits between Legendary and Enchanted cards, featuring alternate art versions of characters like Elsa.

Gameplay will see its first competitive rotation under the Core Constructed format, where cards from the first four sets become ineligible for tournament play. However, Ravensburger is mitigating this change through Infinity Constructed (allowing all cards) and reprints of fan favorites like Winnie the Pooh (Hunny Wizard).

Reign of Jafar Ushers in New Story Content

Launching June 6, the eighth set continues Jafar's villainous arc as he wields the corrupted Hexwell Crown. The set introduces cooperative gameplay through the Illumineers' Quest: Palace Heist boxed experience for four players.

Notable additions include Bambi (Prince of the Forest) and variant versions of classic Aladdin characters. A new Collection Starter Set provides an entry point with four Fabled boosters and exclusive promo cards.

The Q4 2025 "Whispers in the Well" set was teased with art featuring Mickey, Ariel, and potential Gargoyles crossovers. The presentation concluded with a major fan request fulfilled - Darkwing Duck's official confirmation for a 2026 release.
