Digimon Story: Time Stranger Leaks Before PlayStation Showcase

Author:Kristen Update:Mar 25,2025

A new Digimon video game, titled Digimon Story: Time Stranger, has seemingly been leaked through GameStop just ahead of tonight's PlayStation State of Play presentation. The leak was first spotted by Gematsu, which shared store links for pre-orders on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. These listings, however, lack any images or gameplay details, leaving fans eager for more official information.

This leak comes just hours before Sony's latest State of Play event, which promises 40 minutes of content. Given the timing and the nature of the event, it wouldn't be surprising if Digimon Story: Time Stranger makes an appearance during the showcase.

The Digimon Story series has a rich history, originating with the Nintendo DS game Digimon Story in the mid-2000s. Since then, the franchise has expanded across various platforms with titles like Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth in 2015 and Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth – Hacker’s Memory in 2017. A Complete Edition bundling both Cyber Sleuth games was released in 2019.

In these games, players enter the world of Digimon, where they befriend and battle alongside these digital monsters in RPG-style gameplay. Although franchise producer Kazumashu Habu teased a new Story game in 2022, fans have been awaiting a new installment for years. While Digimon Survive has helped bridge the gap, the potential reveal of Digimon Story: Time Stranger could signify the end of a long wait for a true sequel in the series.
