Crunchyroll Releases Kardboard Kings, a Card Shop and Collector Simulator

Crunchyroll has added Kardboard Kings to its Android library! This single-player card shop management game, originally released on PC in February 2022, is now available on mobile. Developed by Henry's House and Oscar Brittain, published by Akupara Games, and brought to mobile by Crunchyroll, it's a free download for Crunchyroll members.

What's the Kardboard Kings Story?

Step into the shoes of Harry Hsu, inheriting his father's card shop. His dad was a renowned collector and champion of the legendary card game, Warlock. Now, Harry's the new face behind the counter, navigating the exciting world of buying, selling, and trading cards. He's got a unique business partner: Giuseppe, a fast-talking cockatoo with an uncanny knack for spotting a good deal! Together, they run their seaside shop, striving to keep customers happy (or maybe, just maybe, pulling a fast one for extra profit!). The game is filled with charming characters, witty sarcasm, and references to other card games and anime. Over 100 uniquely designed cards, complete with quirky illustrations and shiny variants, await!

Gameplay Details:

The core gameplay is simple: buy low, sell high. But as you progress, card conditions and set rarities fluctuate, adding depth to the experience. Foil finishes, abilities, and popularity all impact a card's value, requiring strategic thinking. Beyond the shop, Kardboard Kings features a roguelite deckbuilding mode on Card Game Island. Here, you'll face challenging duelists, host tournaments, throw booster pack parties, and even run clearance sales to manage inventory.
