Call of Duty: Warzone Experiencing Lobby Crashing Issue

Author:Kristen Update:Feb 02,2025

Call of Duty: Warzone players are experiencing game freezes and crashes during loading screens, sometimes resulting in unfair penalties. While a permanent fix is still under development, developers have implemented a temporary solution.

The Problem: Players reported widespread game freezes and crashes while loading into matches, leading to frustration and unwarranted penalties such as Skill Rating (SR) deductions and temporary match bans. This issue surfaced in early January 2025, adding to existing concerns about bugs and cheating within the game.

The Temporary Fix: In response to player complaints, Raven Software, the developer, announced on January 9th that SR penalties and timeouts would be temporarily suspended for players disconnecting before joining Ranked matches. This mitigates the impact of the bug, preventing unfair punishments for involuntary disconnections. Penalties for mid-match disconnections remain in effect.

Ongoing Issues: The underlying cause of the loading screen crashes remains unaddressed. This continues a trend of ongoing bugs and glitches, even after a major update in early January 2025. The persistence of these issues, particularly those impacting Ranked play, is causing considerable player dissatisfaction. Raven Software is actively working on a permanent solution.
