March brings a delightful twist to *Pokemon GO* with the Bug Out event, a celebration of bug-type Pokemon that promises exciting encounters and unique bonuses. This event is perfect for trainers looking to expand their bug-type collection and perhaps snag some shiny versions of these fascinating creatures.

Event Details

When is the Pokemon GO Bug Out Event?

The Bug Out event in *Pokemon GO* kicks off on March 26 at 10 AM local time and wraps up on March 30 at 8 PM local time. This gives you a solid five-day window to immerse yourself in the world of bug-type Pokemon. It's also an excellent opportunity for Shiny hunting, as most of the featured Pokemon have Shiny variants available.

During the event, you'll encounter more of these bug-type Pokemon in the wild:

  • Wurmple

New Pokemon During the Bug Out Event

Get ready to meet two new additions to *Pokemon GO*: Sizzlipede and Centiskorch. You can evolve Sizzlipede into Centiskorch using 50 Sizzlipede Candy.

Featured Raid Pokemon for the Pokemon GO Bug Out Event

The Bug Out event will feature various raid Pokemon, with some having the chance to be Shiny:

One-Star Raids

  • Scyther*
  • Nincada*
  • Sizzlipede

Three-Star Raids

  • Beedrill*
  • Scizor*
  • Kleavor*

All Pokemon GO Bug Out Event Bonuses

Trainers can enjoy the following bonuses during the Bug Out event:

  • Double XP for catching Pokemon with Nice Throws or better.
  • More Candy for Nice, Great, and Excellent Throws.
  • More Candy XL for Nice, Great, and Excellent Throws (for Trainers over Level 31).
  • Sizzlipede can be attracted with Lure Modules.
  • Higher chance of encountering Shiny Wurmple and Shiny Venipede.
  • Additional Pokemon will appear near a lured PokeStop if enough Pokemon are caught using a single Lure Module.

Pokemon GO Bug Out Field Research, Timed Research, & Paid Time Research

Spinning PokeStops will yield event-themed Field Research tasks, rewarding players with Mega Energy, Scatterbug Candy, and encounters with event Pokemon. Additionally, Timed Research will offer a Lure Module and encounters with event Pokemon, while the Paid Timed Research includes a Lure Module, two Premium Battle Passes, and encounters with event Pokemon. Remember, all research must be completed and rewards claimed before the event concludes.

Starting with the Bug Out event, new bug-type themed Avatar items will be available in the in-game shop:

  • Sizzlipede Boots
  • Scolipede Jacket

Pokemon GO Bug Out Collection Challenges

The Bug Out event will feature Collection Challenges focused on event-themed Pokemon. Completing these challenges will reward you with Stardust, XP, and encounters with event-themed Pokemon.
