Ezio Auditore da Firenze, the iconic Assassin’s Creed protagonist, has been declared the winner of Ubisoft Japan’s Character Awards! This online event, celebrating Ubisoft Japan's three decades of game development, saw fans vote for their favorite characters across Ubisoft's extensive library. The voting period, which ran from November 1st, 2024, concluded with Ezio securing the top spot.

To mark this momentous occasion, Ubisoft Japan has unveiled a special webpage featuring Ezio in a unique artistic style, along with four free downloadable wallpapers (available for PCs and smartphones). Furthermore, a lucky 30 fans will receive an exclusive Ezio acrylic stand set, while 10 exceptionally fortunate individuals will win a massive 180cm Ezio body pillow.

The top ten characters were revealed on Ubisoft Japan’s official website and X (formerly Twitter). Aiden Pearce from Watch Dogs claimed second place, followed by Edward Kenway from Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag in third. The full top ten is:

  1. Ezio Auditore da Firenze (Assassin’s Creed II, Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood, Assassin’s Creed Liberation)
  2. Aiden Pearce (Watch Dogs)
  3. Edward James Kenway (Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag)
  4. Bayek (Assassin’s Creed Origins)
  5. Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad (Assassin's Creed)
  6. Wrench (Watch Dogs)
  7. Pagan Min (Far Cry)
  8. Eivor Varinsdottir (Assassin’s Creed Valhalla)
  9. Kassandra (Assassin’s Creed Odyssey)
  10. Aaron Keener (The Division 2)

In a related poll, Assassin’s Creed also won the top spot for most popular game franchise, beating out Rainbow Six Siege and Watch Dogs. The Division series came in fourth, with Far Cry rounding out the top five.
