Assassin’s Creed Shadows Opens To A Successful Launch

With Over 1 Million Players

Assassin’s Creed Shadows (AC Shadows) has marked a triumphant launch, hitting a remarkable milestone right out of the gate. Ubisoft proudly shared via the official AC Shadows Twitter (X) account that the game surpassed 1 million players in a mere 15 hours post-launch.

Currently, AC Shadows reigns supreme as the top-selling title on Steam, outpacing recent hits like Monster Hunter Wilds and Split Fiction. Data from SteamDB reveals that AC Shadows achieved an all-time peak of 41,412 concurrent players on March 20. The game enjoys a "Very Positive" rating on Steam, with 82% of user reviews being positive.

Here at Game8, however, our assessment of AC Shadows landed at a score of 66 out of 100. This rating reflects our view that the game's mechanics require further refinement and that it deviates somewhat from the traditional Assassin's Creed formula. Despite these critiques, AC Shadows delivers a vast and richly produced world. To delve deeper into our analysis, be sure to read our full review below!
