Assassin’s Creed Shadows Expansion Details Leaked on Steam

Assassin's Creed Shadows' First DLC, "Claws of Awaji," Leaks on Steam

Details regarding the upcoming expansion for Assassin's Creed Shadows, titled "Claws of Awaji," have seemingly leaked via a now-removed Steam update, according to reports from Insider Gaming. This first DLC will introduce a new region, weapon type, skills, gear, and more, extending the game's playtime by over 10 hours. Pre-ordering the game will reportedly grant access to both the "Claws of Awaji" expansion and a bonus mission.

This leak follows the recent delay of Assassin's Creed Shadows to March 20, 2025. Initially slated for a November 15, 2024 release, the game was first pushed back to February 14, 2025, and then again to its current release date. The developers cited the need for additional polish and refinement.

Set in 16th-century feudal Japan, Assassin's Creed Shadows marks the franchise's first foray into East Asia. Players will control dual protagonists: Yasuke, a Samurai, and Naoe, a Shinobi, as they navigate the era's turbulent political landscape. The game's development has been marked by challenges, including negative reactions to character reveals and multiple delays.

The leak's timing coincides with uncertainty surrounding Ubisoft's future, with rumors of a potential Tencent acquisition circulating. This follows a period of mixed reception for several high-profile Ubisoft titles.
