Dumont initially compared Shadows to earlier titles like Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla. However, given the significant variance in length among these games, such comparisons were not particularly helpful. Recognizing the challenge in measuring open-world game durations, Dumont clarified that Shadows aligns more closely with the scope of Origins. For players wary of excessively long games, Shadows seems to offer a more balanced experience. Valhalla, for instance, has faced criticism for its 60-hour main story and a potential total of 150 hours when including all content.
