Applin Debuts in Pokémon GO: Sweet Discoveries Await!

Pokémon GO fans, get ready for a treat with the upcoming Sweet Discoveries event! This exciting event marks the debut of Applin, a Grass and Dragon-type Pokémon from the Galar region, making it a must-attend for collectors and shiny hunters alike. Let’s dive into all the details you need to know about this sweet event.

When Is Applin Debuting in Pokémon GO?

Mark your calendars! The Sweet Discoveries event kicks off on April 24th at 10:00 a.m. and lasts until April 29th at 8:00 p.m. local time. This is when you'll have your first chance to encounter Applin in Pokémon GO. To evolve Applin, you'll need 200 Applin Candies and either 20 Tart Apples to evolve into Flapple or 20 Sweet Apples to evolve into Appletun. For its final evolution into Dipplin and then Hydrapple, you’ll follow the same candy and apple requirements.

Tart Apples, Sweet Apples, and Applin itself will appear in the wild during the event. To increase your chances of encountering these items, use Mossy Lure Modules, as they boost the appearance rate of Apples.

Applin is a unique Pokémon that spends its entire life inside an apple, cleverly disguising itself to avoid its natural enemies, bird Pokémon. It’s not just a strategic survivor; Applin is also one of the cutest Pokémon in the game.

During the Sweet Discoveries event, you can snag some new avatar items from the in-game shop, including an Applin Headband and an Applin Apron. Additionally, enjoy the event bonus of earning 2× Candy for catching Pokémon, which will help you gather those essential Applin Candies faster.

Keep an eye out for increased chances of encountering Shiny Delibird and Shiny Skwovet in the wild. Also, there's a higher likelihood of hatching Shiny Delibird, Shiny Cherubi, and Shiny Skwovet from 7 km Eggs. As a sweet bonus, catching Delibird or Skwovet during the event will reward you with berries.
