A new trailer for the highly anticipated TV series, Alien: Earth, has surfaced online, giving fans an exciting glimpse into the upcoming show. The trailer, which was initially unveiled at Disney's 2025 Annual Meeting of Shareholders, was shared by the @CineGeekNews X/Twitter account. It depicts the harrowing journey of a spaceship's survivors, who are racing towards Earth after a devastating encounter with a Xenomorph.

The trailer showcases a new Xenomorph design and strikingly mirrors the aesthetic of Ridley Scott’s 1979 horror classic. Scenes within a MU/TH/UR control room eerily similar to the Nostromo’s set the stage for the unfolding drama. A crew member's desperate plea for help as she is trapped behind a sealed door adds to the tension, while Morrow, portrayed by Babou Ceesay, coldly reports the escape of the "specimens," declares the crew dead, and sets the ship's course for Earth. The trailer also introduces six soldiers approaching what appears to be the crashed ship, hinting at the dire fate awaiting them.

The trailer raises numerous questions about the plot: Will Morrow survive? What drives his actions? Are there any other survivors? Is anyone carrying a Xenomorph embryo? And how will the soldiers meet their end? These queries set the stage for Alien: Earth, where a mysterious space vessel crash-lands on Earth, leading a young woman (Sydney Chandler) and a group of tactical soldiers to a fateful discovery and a confrontation with humanity's greatest threat.

Set in 2120, FX’s Alien series is positioned between Prometheus and the events of the original Alien. This timeline has sparked fan theories about the Nostromo's departure from Earth or how Weyland-Yutani learned of the Xenomorphs. Notably, the recently released Alien: Romulus serves as an interquel between Alien and Aliens.

Last year, showrunner Noah Hawley discussed his decision to diverge from the Prometheus backstory for Alien: Earth, citing his preference for the "retro-futurism" of the original films. Hawley consulted with Ridley Scott on various elements of the series but chose to focus on the lore established in the earlier movies, moving away from the bioweapon narrative.

FX's Alien: Earth is slated to premiere on Hulu in the summer of 2025, and fans can also look forward to Alien: Romulus 2 in development.
