"Made in Abyss Universe Inspires First Mobile Game"

Avex Pictures has recently unveiled an exciting new addition to the "Made in Abyss" franchise with the announcement of a mobile game titled "Made in Abyss: A Difficult and Mysterious Journey." This marks the first time the enthralling world of the Abyss will be explored through a mobile gaming experience. The announcement came alongside the launch of the game's official X account, which is expected to provide regular updates as the release date approaches.

Currently, details about the gameplay are sparse, but it has been confirmed that "Made in Abyss: A Difficult and Mysterious Journey" will be a casual mobile game, available on both Android and iOS platforms. However, the game will initially be released only in Japan, with no information yet available regarding a global rollout.

The World of Made in Abyss

"Made in Abyss" originated in 2012 as a manga series by Akihito Tsukushi, serialized on Web Comic Gamma. The story revolves around Riko, a young orphan living in the town of Orth, which is built around a colossal vertical hole called the Abyss. This mysterious chasm is filled with ancient technology, bizarre creatures, and a deep, haunting enigma that has claimed many explorers.

Riko is driven by her ambition to emulate her mother, Lyza, a renowned White Whistle Cave Raider who vanished into the depths of the Abyss. During her journey, Riko encounters Reg, a half-robot boy with amnesia, and together they embark on a perilous descent into the Abyss, fully aware of the possibility that they might never return.

The "Made in Abyss" manga was adapted into an anime series in 2017, followed by a sequel film, "Dawn of the Deep Soul," released in Japan in 2020. Additionally, in 2022, Chime Corporation released a console and PC RPG titled "Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness," further expanding the universe of the Abyss.
