HBO's critically acclaimed The Last of Us series is projected to span four seasons, according to an executive.

Francesca Orsi, an HBO executive, hinted at a four-season run for the popular adaptation, clarifying that there's no finalized plan yet. "While I can't confirm it definitively, it's looking like three seasons beyond this one, and then we're finished," Orsi told Deadline.

Regarding the highly anticipated Season 2 premiere in April 2025, Orsi teased, "The various factions vying for survival will be revealed, showcasing a compelling group of survivalists with a distinctive style." She added, "Their portrayal through wardrobe and makeup sets them apart from typical characters."

There's still time to catch up before Season 2 premieres in April. Unlike Season 1, which adapted the first game, Season 2 will expand upon The Last of Us Part II, spanning multiple episodes with a natural narrative break after seven.

Season 2 introduces several new cast members: Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, Danny Ramirez as Manny, and Tati Gabrielle as Mel. Catherine O'Hara's role remains undisclosed.

IGN's review of Season 1 lauded it as "a stunning adaptation, captivating both newcomers and seasoned fans," earning a 9/10 rating.
