Le directeur original de Harry Potter appelle HBO Reboot une «idée spectaculaire»

Chris Columbus, réalisateur des films originaux de Harry Potter, salue la prochaine série HBO comme une «idée spectaculaire», soulignant son potentiel pour capturer plus précisément l'essence des livres.

Dans une interview avec People, Columbus a expliqué les limites imposées par les temps plus courts des films. Alors que lui et son équipe "ont essayé d'obtenir autant de livres que possible", les contraintes d'un film de deux heures se sont révélées significatives.

"Je pense que c'est une idée spectaculaire car il y a une certaine restriction lorsque vous faites un film", a déclaré Columbus. Il a noté le temps d'exécution de la "pierre de sorcier" et "Chamber of Secrets", mettant en évidence l'impossibilité d'inclure tous les détails du livre.

"Le fait qu'ils aient le loisir des épisodes \ [multiples ]pour chaque livre est fantastique", a-t-il poursuivi. "Vous pouvez obtenir toutes les choses dans la série que nous n'avons pas eu l'occasion de faire ... toutes ces grandes scènes que nous ne pouvions tout simplement pas mettre dans les films."

Annoncé en avril 2023, l'adaptation HBO promet une exploration "fidèle" et "approfondie" des romans, dépassant les limites des longs métrages. Francesca Gardiner et Mark Mylod, producteurs de "succession" (avec Mylod contribuant également à "Game of Thrones"), sont attachés à directement et à écrire.

Le casting est en cours pour le trio central de Harry, Hermione et Ron. En ce qui concerne le rôle de Dumbledore, Gary Oldman, l'original Sirius Black, a suggéré avec humour que son âge pourrait le rendre approprié, deux décennies après ses débuts "Prisoner of Azkaban".

Les rapports indiquent que Mark Rylance est un candidat de premier plan pour Dumbledore, en maintenant la série `` Focus on British Talent, un choix peut-être influencé par J.K. Rowling a rapporté la participation "assez impliquée" au processus de casting.

La production devrait commencer au printemps 2025, HBO visant une version 2026.
