El director original de Harry Potter llama a HBO reiniciar una 'idea espectacular'

Chris Columbus, director de las películas originales de Harry Potter, aclera la próxima serie de HBO como una "idea espectacular", enfatizando su potencial para capturar con mayor precisión la esencia de los libros.

En una entrevista con People, Columbus explicó las limitaciones impuestas por los tiempos de ejecución más cortos de las películas. Mientras que él y su equipo "intentaron obtener la mayor cantidad posible del libro", las limitaciones de una película de más de dos horas resultaron significativas.

"Creo que es una idea espectacular porque hay una cierta restricción cuando estás haciendo una película", dijo Columbus. Observó el tiempo de ejecución de "Sorcerer's Stone" y "Cámara de los secretos", destacando la imposibilidad de incluir todos los detalles del libro.

"El hecho de que tengan el ocio de \ [múltiples ]episodios para cada libro es fantástico", continuó. "Puedes obtener todas las cosas en la serie que no tuvimos la oportunidad de hacer ... todas estas grandes escenas que simplemente no pudimos poner en las películas".

Anunciada en abril de 2023, la adaptación de HBO promete una exploración "fiel" y "en profundidad" de las novelas, superando las limitaciones de las películas. Francesca Gardiner y Mark Mylod, productores de "sucesión" (con Mylod también contribuyen a "Game of Thrones"), están adjuntos a Direct and Write.

El casting está en marcha para el trío central de Harry, Hermione y Ron. Con respecto al papel de Dumbledore, Gary Oldman, el Sirius Black original, sugirió con humor que su edad podría hacerlo adecuado, dos décadas después de su debut "Prisionero de Azkaban".
