PlayStations State of Play im Juni 2025 erreichte neue Höhen und brach die bisherigen Rekorde für gleichzeitige Zuschauerzahlen der Serie. Sony entfachte die Spiele-Saison mit einer spektakulären Präsentation und gab aufregende Einblicke in die Zeit vor der Summer Games Fest Week – darunter erste Blicke auf 007 First Light, Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles, Romeo is a Dead Man und Silent Hill f.

Ein historischer Höhepunkt für Sonys Präsentation

Laut Streams Charts erreichte dieser State of Play einen Spitzenwert von über 2,2 Millionen Live-Zuschauern – eine Premiere für Sonys digitale Events. Die Übertragung ist damit die drittmeistgesehene Gaming- oder Tech-Präsentation des Jahres 2025 gemessen an der Spitzenzuschauerzahl, übertroffen nur von zwei Nintendo Direct-Präsentationen (wobei die Vorstellung der Switch 2 erwartungsgemäß dominierte).

Wie Push Square anmerkt, war dies nicht Sonys absolut größter Livestream – die PS5-Vorstellungsveranstaltung hält mit 44 Millionen Aufrufen immer noch diese Krone. Auch die Präsentationen zu Horizon Forbidden West und Horizon Zero Dawn zogen zuvor riesige Zuschauermengen an und erreichten 15 Millionen bzw. 10 Millionen Aufrufe. Dennoch sticht der State of Play vom Dienstag als der am meisten gesehene in der Geschichte der Serie hervor.

Eine Machtdemonstration von Drittherstellern

Die diesjährige Präsentation konzentrierte sich hauptsächlich auf Dritthersteller-Studios – insbesondere japanische Entwickler – mit herausragenden Enthüllungen von Capcom, Grasshopper Manufacture, Konami, ArtPlay, Square Enix und Team Ninja. Überraschenderweise traten Sonys eigene First-Party-Spiele eher in den Hintergrund.

Die Präsentation wirkte eindeutig auf Hardcore-Spieler ausgerichtet, mit einer starken Aufstellung actionslastiger Titel – viele davon wahrscheinlich für erwachsenes Publikum bestimmt. Ob blutiger Kampf oder atmosphärischer Horror, dieser State of Play hielt sich nicht zurück.
