Switch 2 Joy-Cons könnten als Computermäuse fungieren, deutet auf neue Beweise hin

Neueste Indizien deuten auf eine überraschende neue Funktion der Nintendo Switch 2 Joy-Cons hin: die Fähigkeit, als Computermäuse zu fungieren. Während die Praktikabilität dieses Modus für Spieleentwickler ungewiss bleibt, steht er im Einklang mit Nintendos Geschichte innovativer Experimente.

Die Beweise stammen vom Famiboards-Benutzer LiC, der zuvor vietnamesische Zolldaten im Zusammenhang mit einem mutmaßlichen Nintendo-Teilelieferanten analysiert hat. Diese Datenquelle hat seit Mitte 2024 zahlreiche Gerüchte über Switch 2 angeheizt. Anfang Januar 2025 enthüllte LiC weitere Erkenntnisse: In Versandmanifesten war von Klebeband aus Polyethylen (PE) die Rede, das als „Mäusesohlen“ bezeichnet wird und zur Befestigung an „Griffen von Spielekonsolen“ gedacht ist. Dies deutet darauf hin, dass die Switch 2 Joy-Cons möglicherweise mausähnliche Funktionen enthalten.

LiC hat zwei „Maussohlen“-Modellnummern identifiziert, LG7 und SML7, die nicht in öffentlichen Komponentendatenbanken gefunden wurden. Dies bedeutet, dass es sich um neue, unveröffentlichte Produkte handelt. Die angegebene Größe, 90 x 90 mm, scheint groß genug zu sein, um die gesamte Rückseite der Joy-Cons abzudecken, sodass beim Zusammenbau möglicherweise ein Zuschnitt erforderlich ist.

Keine Premiere für Handhelds

Ein mausähnlicher Controller-Modus ist zwar unkonventionell, aber bei Handheld-Spielen nicht beispiellos. Das 2023 erschienene Lenovo Legion GO bietet dieses Feature bereits mit seinem rechten Controller, der sich beim Drehen in eine Maus verwandelt. Lenovo legt sogar ein Kunststoffteil bei, um die Gleitfähigkeit zu verbessern. Der Legion GO verfügt außerdem über Magnetschienen zum Anbringen von Controllern – eine Funktion, die Gerüchten zufolge auch für den Switch 2 gilt. Diese Ähnlichkeit deutet auf mögliche Designparallelen zwischen den beiden Geräten hin.
