Rockstars Enhanced Edition von Grand Theft Auto 5 sieht sich auf Steam nach seiner Veröffentlichung im März erheblichem Widerstand gegenüber. Die remasterte Version hat derzeit eine "Gemischt"-Bewertung, wovon nur 54% der 19.772 Nutzerbewertungen positiv sind – ein deutlicher Kontrast zur "Sehr positiv"-Bewertung der Originalversion vor deren Entfernung von Steam.

Diese negative Aufnahme macht GTA 5 Enhanced zum am schlechtesten bewerteten GTA-Titel auf Steam, der sogar schlechter abschneidet als die problembehaftete Grand Theft Auto III – The Definitive Edition mit einer Zustimmungsrate von 66%.

Das kostenlose Upgrade sollte PC-Spieler auf Augenhöhe mit den Konsolenversionen bringen, einschließlich PlayStation 5- und Xbox Series X|S-exklusiver Funktionen wie Haos Special Works-Upgrades, Tierbegegnungen und GTA+-Mitgliedschaftszugang, zusammen mit grafischen Verbesserungen und kürzeren Ladezeiten.
