Game Director Hamaguchi hat mitgeteilt, dass das Team fleißig an der Fortsetzung von Final Fantasy VII arbeitet, aber er hat die Fans aufgefordert, geduldig zu bleiben, da weitere Details zu gegebener Zeit bekannt gegeben werden. Laut Hamaguchi war 2024 ein Bannerjahr für die zweite Folge der Trilogie, Final Fantasy Rebirth, die weltweit zahlreiche Auszeichnungen und faszinierte Spieler erhielt. Die Schöpfer konzentrieren sich nun darauf, die Final Fantasy VII -Fangemeinde zu erweitern, und werden in der kommenden dritten Folge einzigartige Herausforderungen stellen.
