Veilguard Abandons Denuvo DRM, Embraces Player Trust

Veilguard Has No Denuvo DRM Because They Good and bad news for Dragon Age: The Veilguard fans! BioWare has announced the game will launch without Denuvo DRM, but PC players will miss out on preloading.

BioWare's Michael Gamble confirmed on Twitter (X) that Dragon Age: The Veilguard will skip Denuvo anti-piracy software. This decision, welcomed by many PC gamers who often associate DRM with performance issues, means no preload for PC players. One user responded to Gamble's announcement with, "I support this. I will buy your game upon launch. Thank you."

Gamble also clarified that The Veilguard won't require always-online play. However, the lack of DRM necessitates the omission of the PC preload, a disappointment given the game's 100GB+ size. Console players can still preload; Xbox early access users can install now, while PlayStation early access begins October 29th.

Veilguard Has No Denuvo DRM Because They Along with the DRM news, BioWare revealed system requirements. High-end PCs can leverage ray tracing and uncapped frame rates. Minimum specs prioritize accessibility. Consoles (PlayStation 5 & Xbox Series X|S) offer fidelity and performance modes (30 and 60 FPS respectively). To fully utilize PC ray tracing, you'll need at least an Intel Core i9 9900K or AMD Ryzen 7 3700X CPU, 16GB RAM, and an Nvidia RTX 3080 or AMD Radeon 6800XT GPU.
